Super easy to use - no download, no login required. I want to read this novel on my Kindle, as such, I need to copy the text, put it into a text file, convert into a mobi file and then I can put it in my Kindle. If on Chrome - you will get access to Google's voices as well.

The problem I am facing with this idea, is that I notice Chrome extensions close when you click away meaning the text you select will not be saved in the Chrome extension. TTSReader is a free Text to Speech Reader that supports all modern browsers, including Chrome, Firefox and Safari. Web text on my Nexus 7 is sometimes really small is there some kind of 'Reader' or 'Readability' function in Chrome to make articles readable, like iOS Safari 'Reader' feature 1 comment. The text they highlight or select should then be saved and displayed in the Chrome extension (I am guessing I will put that in local storage or something). To use it, select text on the image, right-click the selection afterwards, and select Translate. Under 'Text-to-Speech,' turn on Enable ChromeVox (spoken feedback). In the 'Accessibility' section, select Manage accessibility features. Especially the translate option can be useful. To have pages read aloud to you, turn on your Chromebook’s built-in screen reader: At the bottom right, select the time. Use it to copy the selected text to the clipboard, to select all text, or to translate the text on the image into a different language. When this button is clicked, users should be able to highlight (or select) text on the Chrome DOM using their cursor. To copy the highlighted text on an image, press Ctrl-C to do so. I am just interested in knowing if this is generally possible or if it is a limitation of chrome extensions.Ĭurrently, I am thinking of building a chrome extension which should have a "Manual Select button". Click the Screenshot Reader button on the toolbar and your cursor will change to a crosshair.
I am, however, happy to look into adding this ability if there is a need for it. Screenshot Reader can also be opened from the Read&Write for Google Chrome web, Google Docs or Slides toolbars. This extension does not enable text selection for websites that have disabled text selection via javascript.

This question is a bit confusing and I am sorry I do not have any code to provide. You can drag over a few lines and watch as a semitransparent blue box highlights the text, helping you keep track of where you are and what youre reading. This extension will allow you to select the text in the Homework Help section of their website and anywhere else that this feature has been disabled.
